The subject of this design competition is the development of an architectural design solution for the Community House in Horažďovice, aimed at the reconstruction of the cinema, revitalization of its operation, and transformation into a cultural, social, and educational center with a library. Part of the design solution will include the adjacent area of the Strakonická – Plzeňská intersection in Horažďovice, where a functional and attractive space is to be created as a counterpoint to the square, inviting passing traffic to stop and visit the town. The place should become a center for meetings, cultural offerings, and relaxation, with shopping possibilities while maintaining valuable transport services and parking.
The aim of the competition is to obtain a high-quality architectural design for the transformation of the building, which will serve as a basis for the preparation of subsequent project documentation (Community House in Horažďovice) and also to acquire a quality urban-architectural design for the revitalization of the Strakonická – Plzeňská intersection area.
