The Institute of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of ZF MENDELU in Brno cordially invites you to the exhibition “CZECH GARDEN ART OF THE RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE IN THE CONTEXT OF EUROPEAN DEVELOPMENT (1550-1720),” which is the first in a series of three educational exhibitions as part of our NAKI II project “Czech Garden Art and Landscape Architecture in the Context of European Development.”
The exhibition presents the Renaissance and Baroque periods in garden culture on 32 large-format panels, which shaped the face and character of our residences and landscapes and became part of our culture and national identity.
The following exhibition in 2019 will address the 18th century in Czech garden art and landscape architecture in the context of European development. The third exhibition in 2020 will provide information about Czech garden art and landscape architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries in the context of global development. The main aim of the exhibition is to contribute to the rehabilitation of the garden as a cultural environment.
A short informal opening of the exhibition will take place on August 31, 2018, at 3:00 PM at the venue of the exhibition in Karlachovy Sady in Prague at Vyšehrad.
We would be pleased if you come to see the exhibition.
