Valašské Meziříčí has a building permit for a residential building with 34 apartments

Valašské Meziříčí – Valašské Meziříčí in the Vsetín region has obtained a building permit for an apartment building for young families with children, which will have 34 apartments. The building will be created by renovating the former dormitory of the glassmaking school, building K1 on Zašovská street. The town hall is completing the final preparations to start selecting a construction contractor through a competition as soon as possible, city hall spokesperson Jakub Mikuš informed ČTK today.

The unused building of the former dormitory was purchased by the city from the local Diaconia of the Czech Brethren Evangelical Church for nearly 18 million crowns. A study and then a project for the conversion of the dormitory into an apartment building were prepared. "A total of 34 new apartments will be created here, mainly with layouts of 2+kk and 3+kk. We now also have the building permit in hand and would like to compete for the construction contractor in the near future. At the same time, we are also trying to find a suitable grant program that could help us with the conversion," said Mayor Robert Stržínek (ANO). The projected costs are around 200 million crowns excluding VAT. "However, we believe that we can manage to reduce them further through the competition," the mayor added.

The city has 431 apartments in its housing stock. "At the same time, we are preparing further development areas intended for the construction of apartment and family houses. This includes, for example, land on Vrbenská street, in the area of the former Křižan's sawmill, or in our local parts," said Deputy Mayor Yvona Wojaczková (ANO).

The town hall is also collaborating with private investors who plan to build apartments and houses in Valašské Meziříčí in the coming years. "We have also launched a grant program through which we contribute to private investors for the construction of technical infrastructure, such as roads, sidewalks, water supply, sewerage, or public lighting. Just for this year, we have budgeted an amount of five million crowns for the acquisition of this infrastructure," said the mayor.
