The new church in Neratovice is set to be completed in 2028, according to the project's spokesperson

Neratovice – Neratovice – The new Church of the Holy Trinity in Neratovice in the Mělník region is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2028, with the rough construction to be finished by next year. A community center, which will serve a number of activities not only for believers, will operate alongside it, spokesperson for the project Katarína Klíčová stated today in response to a query from ČTK.

"Currently, internal walls of the monolithic structure are being completed, and the ground floor ceiling slab, which will also serve as the ceiling of the main hall, is being prepared. In spring, the realization of the foundation slab for the rectory is also planned," described the current progress of the work Klíčová.

The community center will provide facilities for bands, gatherings of mothers with children, a ceramics workshop, and religious education. Activities of the pastoral council and spiritual retreats are also planned. The center will organize cultural events for the public, such as concerts, lectures, weddings, exhibitions, balls, discussions, and author readings, the spokesperson added.

The rough construction of the church is estimated to cost 204 million crowns, partially funded by the Neratovice Community Center Foundation, but a significant part also comes from public donations from a fundraising campaign. As of February 22 this year, 68 million crowns were still needed, so the fundraising continues.

Neratovice became a town in 1957, and there was a lack of a church. Local believers only had access to the chapel of St. Wenceslas. Over time, several municipalities, including Lobkovice, where the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is located, became part of the town.
