The company Deceuninck presents the Twinson composite material in a new design. Not only terraces, pool edges, or garden pathways are ideal places for the use of the Twinson composite material, which combines the quality of wood with the durability of PVC. Twinson withstands even in demanding conditions, such as those of a harbor pier.

Material Selection
The Twinson material stands out primarily for its strength, safe surface treatment, resistance to natural influences, and also its low maintenance requirements. These are all reasons why Twinson was selected for the construction of the harbor pier at the sailing club in Balatonföldvár, Hungary. The harbor pier is constantly exposed to adverse environmental conditions from all directions. At the same time, it must be safe for boat owners, for whom the pier is the only way to reach their boats. These conditions are also met by Twinson, which has a non-slip surface, does not splinter like wooden boards, and is not dangerous even for bare feet. Thanks to its composition, it is highly durable and does not require any special maintenance, unlike wooden piers that must be surface treated regularly.

Implementation
For the construction of the harbor pier at the sailing club, almond beige color of the Twinson material was used, and it was necessary to cover an area of 115.7 m² of the pier. Given the unconventional surface on which Twinson was installed, the installation was quite challenging. Due to the absence of a solid substrate, it was necessary to use standard base profiles with specially welded reinforcements to prevent the substrate from bending. Since the installation took place directly above the water surface and the substrate and anchoring piles were very slippery, working on the pier was quite dangerous, especially due to the constant need for electrically powered mounting tools.

Excellent Alternative
The construction of the harbor pier at Lake Balaton is a perfect example of the versatility of Twinson material. With its non-slip surface and resistance to mechanical damage and ubiquitous moisture, it is ideal for this application. It is also an excellent alternative to hard exotic woods and can be used for terraces, pool edges, or garden steps or paths. It gives project creators the opportunity to realize projects in various environments, as it is available in eight color shades - almond beige, olive green, apricot brown, hazel brown, bark brown, sod brown, licorice black, and stone gray. An advantage is the possibility of modeling it into various geometric shapes. The material is 100% recyclable and the pine wood that forms a part of it comes from sustainably managed forests, not from endangered rainforests, as is the case with exotic hardwoods.
