Competition for Architects and Designers Draw with Light

The company VELUX Czech Republic, Ltd., a supplier of roof windows, shading and decorative accessories, announces a competition for architects and designers called Draw with Light. Competitors can win valuable prizes for the roof windows designed in their projects.

Light is the most discussed topic in contemporary architecture. For VELUX, light is a symbol of inhabiting previously dark and uninhabited spaces under sloped roofs; roof windows are a natural source of daylight in attics.

VELUX aims to engage architects, designers, or project developers who plan to illuminate interiors with roof windows in their projects. The competition will include designs that were prepared as a basis for issuing a building permit or as an execution project and that have not been approved before the announcement date of the competition, i.e., before May 1, 2007. The competition runs until October 30, 2007.

Projects can be submitted to the competition by post or through www.velux.cz, in the section for architects and designers/competitions. At the same location on the website, participants can also monitor the total score they accumulate in the competition.

Participants in the Draw with Light competition can exchange their points for valuable prizes at any time during the competition. Among the prizes are, for example, a book on architecture, an Apple MP3 player, or a 19" Samsung LCD monitor.
