How does the second generation differ from the original? Unlike the first generation, the new Ceresit CE 40 Aquastatic grout has the ability not only to passively defend against the infiltration of moisture into the joint structure, but also, thanks to an original combination of three effective biocidal agents, to actively fight against the growth of mold cultures and the adhesion and spread of spores. And what makes it unique? On the current market for grouting materials, there are quite a few products that announce protection against mold, but the reality is that these have always been formulas focused on protecting against the penetration of water and moisture into the joint structure. This moisture protection, which disrupts the joint and thus opens the way for the formation of unwanted mold and microorganisms, is of course important and is also maintained in the 2nd generation of Ceresit MicroProtect grouting materials, but is insufficient for effective combat against the adhesion and growth of mold colonies.
