In buildings with flat roofs, there is often no option to use standard vertical facade windows, which is why FAKRO offers specially designed windows for flat roofs, making them an ideal solution in these cases.

The company FAKRO introduced innovative, specially designed windows for installation in flat roofs in 2013. For maximum user comfort, the windows are available in three versions: electrically operated in a wireless Z-Wave system, manually operated, and non-opening.

The frame of the flat roof windows is made of multi-chamber PVC profiles, and its inner surface is white (RAL 9010). The PVC used is resistant to acids and characterized by low moisture absorption.
Flat roof windows can be in the dome version - type C or in the flat version - type F. The design of the type C window has a dome made of impact-resistant polycarbonate, resistant to weathering.

Dome window D_C (clear or frosted) is standardly equipped with safety glazing class P2 (in the event of glass breakage, shards will remain on the foil). The overall window coefficient U= 1.2 W/m2K according to EN 12567-2. A window with passive glazing DU8 can also be selected, where the overall window D_C U8 coefficient is U=0.72 W/m2K according to EN 12567-2 (U=0.55 W/m2K according to EN 1873). The window meets the conditions required for low-energy and passive construction. The installation range for roofs with a pitch of 0-15°.

Flat window D_F brings a completely new perspective on the product. It stands out with very good thermal insulation parameters and a modern appearance. The construction is the same as for the window D_C, the difference lies in the glazing, which has been created using a glazing bonding technology. The window is standardly equipped with energy-saving glazing DU6 (outer tempered glass with a thickness of 6 mm, inner laminated and safety P2). The overall window coefficient U=0.88 W/m2K according to EN 12567-2. It can also be ordered with passive glazing DU8, where the coefficient D_F DU8 is U=0.76 W/m2K according to EN 12567-2. The D_C window meets the requirements for low-energy and passive buildings and is installed in roofs with a pitch of 2-15°.

A wide range of sizes is tailored to the standards for illuminating flat roofs, so there is no problem replacing existing non-compliant skylights with new ones. Besides standard sizes, the D_F type window can be manufactured in any size within the range of 60x60 – 120x220 cm.

Flat roof windows can be equipped with internal and external accessories. An external awning protects against heating the room, while internal accessories shade the interior and serve a decorative function. A novelty for 2013 is the AMZ Solar awning, which can be controlled in one of three modes (automatic, semi-automatic, manual, and remotely via a remote control).
