For sensitive reconstructions of historic facades or designs of modern new constructions, plastic facade elements and StoDeco panels are an ideal choice. You can use them to create lines or focal points, and they are also excellent for designing cornices, decorative surrounds, or entire surfaces.

In 2011, architects from the Franken office designed an apartment building in Frankfurt with a facade that digitally matches the original timber framing. The pattern mimicking the half-timbered house was milled into StoDeco facade panels StoDeco. Photo: Axel Stephan.

It doesn't matter whether you are restoring a historic facade or designing a modern and original look for a new building

Elements StoDeco are available in the form of serial products or custom-made parts that are easy to apply and fully compatible with Sto facade systems. Thanks to this, you can always be sure that with StoDeco plastic facade elements, you will achieve a facade completely according to your vision. StoDeco elements are ideal for new construction facades – they combine modern design, functionality, and long-lasting durability without compromising in technical solutions. They can create modern horizontal or vertical lines, frames around windows, cornices, corner elements, and entire geometric compositions. As a result, the new construction can easily stand out and gain a distinctive appearance. Conversely, for the restoration of historic buildings, StoDeco allows for a faithful reconstruction of original decorative elements – including profiles, surrounds, cornices, or other architectural details. This is evidenced by the project on Opuštěné ulici in Brno, where architects from the Burian-Křivinka studio used StoDeco elements for the sensitive restoration of the dominant historic facade.

The secret of our StoDeco elements lies in the material used for their production

It is a volcanic-origin raw material called Verolith®, which we use for the production of our StoDeco elements. From granules made from this unique raw material, we subsequently produce panels in standard formats, from which we create plastic facade elements, cornices, or panels precisely according to your architectural designs through sophisticated CNC methods. These created three-dimensional elements or panels can then be directly glued onto a contact or ventilated facade according to a pre-prepared plan. Once the three-dimensional element is in place, the desired facade coating is applied to it in three layers, which can have (thanks to our X-black technology) a light reflectance coefficient of less than 15. The elements are intended for long-term outdoor use, resistant to temperature fluctuations, humidity, and sunlight. In addition, they are shape-stable, non-combustible, and lightweight, so they do not burden the facade or thermal insulation system. Their installation is quick, clean, and feasible even at a later stage of construction. StoDeco elements are also fully compatible with Sto facade systems, ensuring a technically correct and durable solution.

The possibilities of StoDeco facade elements are best illustrated by case studies

One of them is the restoration of the historic facade of the Opuštěná building in Brno, which required nearly a complete reconstruction of the stucco decoration. The architects, along with the investor and Sto company, decided to return the facade to its original appearance using decorative StoDeco profiles that faithfully replicate the original elements based on period photographs. The result is a harmonious fusion of historical aesthetics with modern construction technologies.
