May 19 / Urban Interventions: Live performance by the authors at the Urban Interventions Prague 2010 exhibition
Event starts at 19:00
In connection with the organization of the Urban Interventions Prague 2010 exhibition, a series of accompanying evenings with live performances by the authors is prepared. Around sixty teams from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will participate in the project. Each of them will be able to present their proposals and thought processes that led to the selection of a specific place, theme, and its subsequent processing using a ten-minute projection.
The first 10 authors will present at the evening. Following the presentations, there will be a discussion with the presenters moderated by the exhibition's authors.

May 24 / Discussion with Doc. PhDr. Petr Kratochvíl CSc. and Ing. arch. Jan Kasl on the topic: Jan Kaplický and green high-tech
Jan Kaplický was among the pioneers of eco-friendly architecture. He influenced the trend of architecture that sees the path to sustainable development in the application of cutting-edge technologies and unconventional forms. What is his place in the context of similar architectural tendencies? Does this path offer solutions or just a "green alibi" for formal experiments?

May 31 / Discussion with Ing. arch. Zdeněk Fránek and Doc. PhDr. Petr Kratochvíl, CSc. on the topic: Blobitecture
Thanks to powerful computers and new software programs, the form of contemporary architecture is increasingly distancing itself from traditional rectangular structures, allowing itself to be inspired by various natural materials. Modern buildings of amorphous shapes are thus arising around us, reminiscent of, for example, pulsating waves, indistinct clusters, or convex forms.
Blobitecture (or blob architecture, blobitecture, blobism) is a term designating one of the contemporary trends in modern architecture that is inspired by natural organic shapes.
The term "blob architecture" first appeared in the mid-1990s, and the name "blobitecture" was first used in an article by William Safire for the New York Times Magazine in 2002.
