The fourth lecture of the Students for Students cycle on the topic of Geometry – the Hidden Soul of Architecture will be delivered by Portuguese architect Prof. Manuel Couceiro. The cycle is held under the auspices of the Dean for International Relations, Prof. Zdeněk Zavřel. The lecture will take place on Monday, April 20, 2015, at 6:30 PM in the Gočár Hall (155), Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague, Thákurova 9, Prague 6.
Prof. Manuel Couceiro is an architect and educator at the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Lisbon (Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade de Lisboa). In his scientific and educational activities, he focuses on applied geometry in relation to architecture and design. Prof. Couceiro believes that the essence of geometry should be sought not in exact definitions, but in human imagination. The lecture will be in English, admission is free.
