The Institute of Civil Engineering I at the Faculty of Architecture, CTU in Prague, cordially invites all interested parties to a series of four publicly accessible lectures by guest professor Mirko Baum.

The ability to produce cast iron, steel, and iron industrially changed the world. Mass production and the affordability of these materials meant not only new forms of labor from the late 18th century but also a radical transformation of society and its aesthetic as well as economic-political thinking.

The lectures pay tribute to the engineers of the industrial revolution and trace their influence on the work of civil engineers today. They will be conducted in Czech. Each lecture lasts 90 minutes, followed by time for discussion.
