Open lecture on Thursday March 11, 2021 at 15:30 with Swedish architects Bolle Tham and Martin Videgård who run the office Tham & Videgård Architects. The lecture ‘Multiple Contexts’ is part of the ‘International Lecture Series’ at the Royal Danish Academy where prominent international architects are invited to present their views on significant topics in architecture. The headline of the Spring 2021 lecture series is ‘The Art of Analysis’. Since the start in 1999 Tham & Videgård Arkitekter has been awarded prizes and nominations in several international competitions and has also attracted attention for its experimental and innovative projects. The office’s working method and approach to architecture is inclusive; practical, theoretical, social and environmental factors are analyzed and integrated in the process with the same weight as construction, budget, climate and landscape. Within the office, the search for pragmatic and direct solutions is combined with a broader experimental exploration. The working method encourages innovation in driving the development of the project, which in turn facilitates the adaptation of the subsequent construction process to modern and efficient production methods. Among the most important completed projects are: KTH New Architecture School (Kasper Salinpriset 2015), Kalmar Art Museum (Kasper Salinpriset 2008), Moderna Museet Malmö, Tellus Preschool, Stenhöga office building, several villas and summer houses, including Creek House (Sveriges Arkitekters villapris 2015) and House Lagnö (ArchDaily House of the Year 2014), Krabbesholm University and Tree Hotel in Harads.
