From Havlíčkův Brod, 28 modules of the hospital building in Bohumín will be transported by Wednesday

Havlíčkův Brod – Today, workers at the Havlíčkův Brod plant began loading the first of 28 modules, from which a two-story administrative building for the city hospital in Bohumín in the Karviná region will be constructed, with the help of a crane. The first trucks will depart on a route approximately 250 kilometers long on the night of Monday. All parts should arrive at the construction site by next Wednesday. The building is expected to be completed by the end of September, said Roman Stryk, the managing director of H3 ateliér, to journalists today.

This is a contract worth 34.5 million crowns excluding value-added tax. "We say that Bohumín is a turning point for us. First, it is the largest project we have done so far, and second, it is also fundamentally different; it is an administrative building. We would like to continue with such projects," the director stated. He also wants to focus on residential projects, for example.

The company H3 ateliér constructs houses, kindergartens, and commercial buildings from modules. About ten years ago, it started with the conversion of containers, and currently, it primarily focuses on modules made of steel structures. After welding, the modules are equipped in the factory with insulation, internal partitions, floors, windows, and water and electricity connections. Likewise, a building for the Bohumín hospital was assembled in the company's facility on Strojírenská Street from this April. Now, workers are disassembling the individual modules again so that they can be loaded onto trucks.

The handling and transportation must also withstand glazed windows. "We have completed 230 projects, both large and small. After those 230 projects, we can say that they can withstand it," the director said. He noted that the greatest caution is required when transferring modules using a crane. One module weighs around ten tons. "We have to think carefully before we lift the module and set it down again; we must secure it well on the truck so that it doesn't shift," he explained the process.

In Bohumín, after placing the modules, workers will finish the corridors, internal ceilings, and surface finishes and connect the technical networks. According to Stryk, preparing the foundations for the building took about a week. "Now we will spend a whole month there. So the site's burden on the investor will be a maximum of 40 days," he said.

The construction will free up space for the expansion of outpatient care at the hospital. The new building will have 17 offices and two meeting rooms. Employees currently located in Pavilion D of the Bohumín city hospital will move there. The hospital wants to convert the vacated spaces into outpatient clinics for specialist doctors.

The company H3 ateliér belongs to the ROSS group. The company's turnover has been gradually increasing; in 2020, it was 24 million crowns, and this year, the company expects a turnover of around 150 million crowns according to previous statements.
