Brno - A café with a children's playground and a ramp with a pump track will be created in the Brno-Židenice district in an area called Bzzzukot. It will cost over six million crowns, local deputy mayor Petr Kunc (TOP 09) said to reporters today. It is expected to be finished in the summer. Currently, there is a skatepark, climbing wall, and parkour playground in the area.
The café with a children's playground will be established thanks to Radek Hlaváček, who succeeded with the project in the participatory budget program of Brno. The city allowed citizens to participate in decisions about investments through the participatory budget and allocated a total of 20 million crowns for proposed projects. The café with a children's playground in Židenice was successful and received 1.8 million crowns for its implementation.
The district received an additional 3.1 million crowns from the municipal office and will contribute 1.5 million crowns on top of that. The funds will be used for public restrooms and technical facilities for the area, as well as a ramp in the skatepark, lighting, and a pump track where people can ride their bikes up and down without pedaling while learning balance. "The restrooms will be divided for men, women, and disabled citizens," Kunc added.
Around the café and facilities, there will be a paved covered area that can be used for cultural events. "We are still discussing the children's playground. It shouldn’t have a classic slide and sandbox, but it should be something interesting. We are considering things like a rope structure or a trampoline," Kunc concluded.
