Mnichovo Hradiště - Due to the installation of a new footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists, part of the D10 highway near Mnichovo Hradiště in the Mladá Boleslav region will be closed from Saturday night to Sunday. The highway will be completely closed from Saturday at 19:00 to Sunday at 09:00, and drivers will use detour routes. Partial traffic restrictions will already be in place for the preparation of a heavy-duty crane; from Saturday at 16:00, drivers will pass through the section in one lane. Martin Weiss informed ČTK about this today on behalf of Mnichovo Hradiště.
The placement of the bridge over the highway is planned for Saturday after 19:00. At night, the construction company Brex will be assembling the structure of the bridge – bolting, welding, installing railings, and painting. "The work should be completed by Sunday at nine in the morning, when traffic will be restored in one lane in both directions on the highway," Weiss stated. The highway is expected to be fully passable by Sunday at 12:00. Drivers will use detour routes via roads II/268, II/276, and II/610 during the complete closure.
Mnichovo Hradiště has been building a new bridge over the highway for pedestrians and cyclists since April. The 60-meter-long bridge will connect the town with the local parts Dobrá Voda and Lhotice, and it should be completed in October. The architectural design of the bridge was created by Atelier AP of architect Josef Pleskot. The bridge is being built in an area where a hiking trail originally ran, which was interrupted by the construction of the highway. Future improvements to the adjacent paths will follow the construction of the bridge.
