Prague - Until the end of May, individuals and institutions can submit proposals for the Ministry of Culture awards for contributions in the fields of theater, music, visual arts, and architecture. The spokesperson for the ministry, Marcela Žižková, informed ČTK today. The awards will traditionally be presented on the occasion of the state holiday on October 28. The awards are given for exceptional artistic creative or interpretative achievements or for long-term artistic merits in the fields of theater, music, visual arts, and architecture. The award comes with a monetary reward of 300,000 crowns. The awards will be presented this year for the fifth time. Last year, the recipients were director and playwright Ladislav Smoček, composer Svatopluk Havelka, and painter, graphic artist, and educator Dalibor Chatrný. Information about the requirements for submitting a proposal is published on the Ministry of Culture's website www.mkcr.cz, or it can be provided by the Department of Arts and Libraries of the Ministry of Culture.
