Ostrava - The construction of the new Bezruč lodge at the top of Lysá hora, the highest mountain in the Beskids, is nearing completion. The interiors are being finished. The new mountain lodge will open next year. It will offer 100 seats in the restaurant, up to 15 beds, and an ecological education center. Radek Parma, who is in charge of the public fundraising, told ČTK that the new lodge is being built from these funds. "From the outside, the building is nearly finished. Only part of the exterior wall needs to be faced with stone and landscaping is still pending. We will do that next spring," Parma said. The lively work has now moved inside the building. "We already have the floors finished, the heat pump and heating are operational. The building is still quite damp, so at least it will dry out better," he noted. The plastering is also completed. "We are missing the kitchen tiles and the installation of its equipment. The entire building still lacks doors and sinks in the restrooms," he listed further tasks. He added that lights and sockets are yet to be installed. "By the end of September, the terrace will be completed, from which visitors will have a view of the Šance dam and the Tatras," he said. The Bezruč lodge is being built by the Czech Tourist Club and is financed from public donations and gifts. More than four million crowns have been raised in the account. The investor has promised additional funds. Thus, the completion of the construction should not be jeopardized. According to plans, the new lodge built on the site of the original famous Bezruč lodge is expected to open in 2015. The original Bezruč lodge burned down in 1978. For over three decades, only rubble reminded visitors of it on the highest peak of the Beskids. In addition to refreshments and overnight stays, the lodge will also offer education. "We want to follow the path of ecological education. We want to focus on working with children," Jiří Stejskalík, who is responsible for the construction, said earlier.
