Prague - The Town Hall of Prague 3 plans to modify the park at Ohrada, located at the corner of Hartigova Street and Pod Krejcárkem Street in Žižkov. The city councilors of the municipal district recently decided to commission the architectural studio HENK architects, which previously developed a study for the modifications. The changes aim to make the space more accessible to the public and enhance options for seating or physical activities.

According to the study approved last year, the modifications will include the removal of bushes and a fenced flowerbed in the central part that currently obstructs passage through the park. The study also includes the placement of a grandstand, sports elements, and furniture, as well as the removal of curbs, which will improve rainwater drainage into the lawns. The central part will feature seating and a refreshment stand.

The HENK architects studio will now complete the study for 1.25 million crowns excluding VAT, taking into account the requests of local residents that arose from meetings held earlier this year. Subsequently, the architects will develop the project documentation. “Based on the revised study and suggestions arising from participation, it will be possible to undertake partial modifications to the park that do not require building permit approval this year,” states the document approved by the municipal district councilors.

The Town Hall of Prague 3 also plans to begin modifications to the Jewish Furnace Park this fall, which is located north of the Žižkov Freight Station area. The work, according to earlier statements from town hall representatives, will include relatively extensive landscaping aimed primarily at improving water retention in the soil. In addition, the project will also include the repair, expansion, and replacement of pathways, and the renewal of benches and other furniture. A small café and a new playground will be created in the park.
