Allegro, the largest online marketplace of European origin, has announced the relocation of its Prague office from Holešovice to Danube House in Prague’s Karlín district. The building is part of the Riverside Karlín complex and is currently undergoing a complete renovation. Upon completion, it will provide Allegro with a modern and sustainable workspace that meets its actual needs and corporate values.
After a thorough market research conducted in collaboration with Colliers, Allegro chose Danube House at Karolinská 650/1 for its strategic location in one of the most sought-after urban areas, high architectural quality, and LEED Platinum certification. The new facilities will align with Allegro's values and ESG goals and will offer high environmental standards.
“The move to Danube House will mark a new chapter for Allegro in the Czech market. The office is designed to reflect the way we work today – it offers a modern, sustainable environment with a focus on employee needs, all in one of the liveliest neighborhoods in Prague,” said Marcin Kuśmierz, CEO of Allegro.
Offices that reflect the true needs of teams and environmental values Allegro will occupy the second and third floors with a total area of 2,850 m² of net usable space. The architectural design will introduce several innovative elements that will enhance employee satisfaction and visitor comfort. These include a kitchen with a terrace offering a panoramic view of the Vltava River, an original “floating” meeting room with a visitor zone, and a spacious area for corporate events or meetings with business partners. There will also be phone booths and relaxation zones.
From an environmental perspective, Danube House is designed with exceptional care. It excels in efficient water management and utilizes renewable resources, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. Smart heat pumps and shading ensure a pleasant temperature inside the building with minimal energy consumption. In meeting rooms, the system automatically detects stale air and activates ventilation. The two-story garden and green aerial walkway create an environment reminiscent of a jungle, ideal for meetings or relaxation.
The design of the offices is based on employee surveys and consultations with team leaders to ensure that the new environment truly meets their needs. Fit-out work is set to begin in early 2026, with Allegro planning to move into the new space in the summer of the same year. With this step, the company emphasizes not only its values but also its commitment to long-term operations in the Czech market.
