Prague - Boxes full of art, prepared last June by the international exhibition of scenography and theater space Prague Quadriennale (PQ), are now being presented in Latin America and traveling through European countries. The unique architectural installation Intersection, which drew attention at the piazzetta of the National Theatre, will be hosted in January at the Latin American festival Santiago a Mil in Chile.

"It will also appear in Belgrade, in the spring the box Untitled by Josef Nadj will be presented at the festival in Bogotá, and the project Priestess by the Hungarian group Krétakör led by Arpád Schilling has been invited to the prestigious Wiener Festwochen," announced CTK spokesperson of the Arts Institute - Theatre Institute Eva Papánková.
According to her, many of these activities were arranged only after the June presentation of Intersection in Prague, where it caught the attention of foreign curators and program directors of festivals. "The project lives its own, new life; its individual components are invited to other festivals and presented in new contexts," noted the project's curator and artistic director of PQ Sodja Lotkerová.
Projects from Intersection were presented during the summer and autumn of 2011 at several European showcases, such as in Bergen, Nitra, Riga, and Helsinki. New invitations, according to the organizers, demonstrate the success of the concept, which allows for its independent continuation in the following years.
"However, it is not just about individual presentations. A new, albeit reduced version of the entire unique architectural installation from the piazzetta is being showcased these days at the Chilean festival Santiago a Mil. Chilean architect Rodrigo Tisi has designed new boxes here according to the original concept, which will host the projects of Romeo Castellucci, Anna Viebrock, Monika Pormale, as well as Bohdan Holomíček and Eva Hrubá, who will personally attend the festival," added Papánková.
In addition to individual events, Intersection PQ also continues its publication activities. In spring, a publication will be released in which domestic and foreign critics and theorists reflect on the Prague Quadriennale 2011. Almost 50,000 visitors attended last June, along with numerous groups of artists, directors, scenographers, and designers from more than 70 countries. Several cultural "islands" have emerged in the center of Prague, reminding us that theater and theater space can now be found or constructed almost anywhere.
