Prague - In the area of Kyje - Hloubětín in Prague 14, new houses, parks, squares, shops, or primary and nursery schools could be built. This follows from an urban study approved today by Prague city councilors. According to the city's leadership, the current development gives an impression of being disjointed and unfinished. The study was created by the municipal organization Institute of Planning and Development (IPR).

"The main goal of the study is to create a coherent vision of the future district and to propose a landscape interface that will form a natural boundary of the city leading from the south of Dolní Počernice, east across Černý Most, along the northern edge of the designated area, and further north through Satalice and Kbely towards Čakovice," states the study.

In addition to family and apartment buildings, the location is set to have parks and other greenery, and a square will be created in the central part of the district, which will be connected to smaller squares in the surrounding area. "The new development, in addition to housing, must also offer appropriate civic and commercial amenities, which are currently lacking in the area, except for a few minor exceptions," the material states.

The study also proposes the construction of a new primary school, kindergartens, a community center, a supermarket, a post office, and a medical facility. An important component will also be the proposal for rainwater management in light of climate change.

Currently, 4,827 residents live in the development of the area. After the existing structure is supplemented into the proposed district, the area has the potential to become home to approximately 12,885 residents.
