Prague - The development company Orco wants to attract suppliers and other companies collaborating with the headquarters of the European Space Agency's Galileo system (GSA) to the building of the former Electric Enterprises in Prague 7. Orco is planning to remodel the functionalist building for this reason. The investment amount has not been disclosed, the company announced today.
The GSA headquarters is set to move from Brussels to Prague this year. Orco wants to take advantage of the opportunity that Galileo will be located in the neighboring building of the former Czech Consolidation Agency. The premises for the space system are to be ready by this May, as previously stated by Minister of Transport Pavel Dobeš.
Orco intends to obtain a building permit for its project in June. The reconstruction will take a year, resulting in 30,000 square meters of offices named Galilei Business Center.
Orco originally offered the former headquarters of the Electric Enterprises for sale to the Prague 7 municipality, but did not succeed in the tender for the new municipal headquarters. The monumentally protected building was constructed by pre-war builders in 1935.
