Despite another heatwave, snow still lies on the former ski slope in Hradec Králové

Hradec Králové – Although another heatwave has struck, snow still lies on the slope of the former Rozárka ski slope. It is not an unexpected return of winter or a meteorological miracle. The monumental white inscription, clearly visible from the upper floors of buildings and from the adjacent forest park, is made of recycled plastic seats anchored into the terrain. This is an installation that was created as part of this year's Landscape Festival Hradec Králové.

"The installation symbolically returns snow to the place where people used to ski years ago. Originally intended as a poetic reminder to reflect on a spot that people often walk by but rarely actually look at, it currently gains an almost surreal dimension during these tropical days,” say the authors of the installation from Osada u Bobra.

The installation will be on display throughout the summer, and visitors can admire it from afar or sit directly on-site. Rozárka used to be a popular city ski slope; today, its original function is only recalled by remnants of lighting and a gradually overgrowing slope. Nevertheless, it is a place with an extraordinary genius loci that offers one of the most beautiful views of the city against the backdrop of the Krkonoš ridge.
