A part of the former military airport area in Olomouc-Neředín became the property of the statutory city of Olomouc in 2004. In connection with the planned construction of a new airport, it commissioned a land survey and an expert assessment of the existing buildings as early as 2002, which recommended the preservation and new use of several valuable structures. These included one of three portable prefabricated steel hangars of the Pícha I type and/or one similar, larger hangar of the Pícha II type, which Czech Airlines supplied in the years 1925-1928 from the Hradec Králové factory of Alfred Ippen, and also a large reinforced concrete hangar built in 1926 according to the design of Stanislav Bechyne. The demolition of the site began this May with the tearing down of these buildings.
