Prague - The building of the Bürgerhaus in Vladislavova Street in Prague 1 will be transformed into a four-star hotel. The reconstruction costs will reach 120 million crowns. The opening of the hotel, which will bear the name Christie, is planned for spring next year. The construction company Geosan Group, which is reconstructing the building, stated this in a press release sent to CTK today. The investor of the reconstruction is the company G-NEMOVITOSTI, the hotel will be operated by the company G-REALITY. Workers from Geosan Group began construction work in the former headquarters of Czechoslovak Television and later Nova Television last December. After the completion of the reconstruction, a total of 130 rooms, five duplex apartments, and one wheelchair-accessible room will be created here. By converting to a hotel with a conference hall, the Bürgerhaus, which was adapted to the needs of its last tenant, a television studio, will return to its original use by the Bürgerhaus Society. The external appearance of the building will not change significantly due to the reconstruction. The building will have an attic addition and a single-story extension. The facade of the new part will be glass. The same material will be used to clad the existing blind facade of the gable. On the ground floor, builders will adjust the window openings and the entrance portal. They will also lower the window sills and install new windows. They will be made of clear glass with etched stripes. The entrance to the hotel will be from Vladislavova Street. Visitors will be able to use a currency exchange office, a restaurant, or a lounge. However, the architects will also utilize the underground spaces. There will be a breakfast restaurant, storage rooms, and employee locker rooms.
