The Mitrovský Pavilion in Brno will be newly utilized

Brno - The Letohrádek Mitrovských in Brno will be newly utilized for concerts, exhibitions, lectures, social events, and from next spring even for wedding ceremonies. The baroque building constructed in the style of the French King Louis XVI has been waiting for its use for two years, said Petr Lukas, its operator, who has leased the property from the city of Brno.
The romantic structure, where Napoleon Bonaparte or Austrian Emperor Francis I once stayed overnight, is one of the significant monuments of Brno. In the past, it hosted events organized by the Museum of the City of Brno. Although several projects for its future emerged in the early nineties, it was used only very sporadically.
The venue is set to begin a new phase with the exhibition "Christmas in the Lodge" starting Saturday. The event will showcase how Christmas was celebrated in both noble and popular styles in the past. The building will be adorned with floral arrangements during this time. The exhibition will run until December 22.
The Letohrádek Mitrovských was commissioned in 1779 by Count Antonín Mitrovský. It was built solely for summer stays. It included a garden and greenhouses with pineapples and orange trees. The main pride of the building is its frescoes. One of the first larger exhibitions in the lodge is expected to present the Mitrovský family.
