Hradec Králové Region has moved to a new residence

Hradec Králové - The Hradec Králové Region today completed a two-week relocation to its new headquarters, which was created by renovating the former Hradec brewery. Starting Monday, more than 350 regional officials will work together under one roof for the first time. Until now, people had to visit officials at three different locations in the city. This was reported by the region's spokesperson Imrich Dioszegi.
The construction of the headquarters took place from April 2005 to this October. The region will pay 1.48 billion crowns for it. This is the largest investment project of the region and probably the most expensive headquarters for officials in the whole of the Czech Republic. The costs of the relocation itself were about 300,000 crowns.
The regional office moved from a building on Wonková Street and from rented spaces in the ZVU company and the Aldis congress center. About 40 employees moved daily. For the public, the region has set up a phone line 844 842 842, where operators provide information on where to find which official. The line should operate at least until the end of February.
From today, employees of the Hradec Králové Health Holding and the government's Eurocenter will also be located in the premises of the regional authority, which is named the Regiocentrum New Brewery. On Monday, the Hradec branches of CzechInvest and the Ministry for Regional Development will also relocate there.
Visitors to the site can already enjoy a bakery and meat products store, and services are provided by a branch of one of the banks. People can also visit the gallery of sculptures by Vladimír Preclík or view the 16th-century bastion discovered by archaeologists during the brewery's reconstruction at the Regiocentrum.
Since the beginning, opposition regional representatives from KDU-ČSL have criticized the new headquarters project. They are concerned that the region will have to cut spending on healthcare, education, and transportation because of it. Representatives of the regional coalition led by ODS reject the criticism. The Hradec labor office is expected to move into the building on Wonková Street after the region.
