The company that will complete the Havlíčkův Brod train station will be selected by experts

Havlíčkův Brod - Havlíčkův Brod entrusted experts with the selection of a construction company to complete the bus terminal. Due to errors in the first selection procedure, which the city managed itself, it could lose European funding. Several people, including the former mayor and an official, are facing criminal prosecution because of it, and the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) has also imposed a fine. Therefore, the city hall selected a professional firm that will organize the process itself and take full responsibility for it, said deputy mayor Libor Honzárek to reporters today.
"The company was recognized as knowledgeable and capable of bringing the matter to completion so that various doubts would not hover around it," he stated. The terminal will cost approximately 80 million crowns in total; work worth more than ten million has already been completed. The EU subsidy was estimated to be 47 million.
The selection procedures were previously organized by city officials. Due to errors in selecting the construction company, the city hall had to pay a fine of 100,000 crowns, and the ÚOHS imposed an additional 40,000 crowns for the tender regarding the loan. The issues surrounding this prestigious construction contributed to the election of a new city leadership earlier this spring.
The city sought experts for supplier selection through a request for proposals. "The situation in the Czech market was monitored, and we referred to significant investors," Honzárek stated. Out of the five contacted companies, four submitted offers. The city chose the Prague company Gordion. According to the deputy mayor, it will pay a fee amounting to several tens of thousands of crowns for its services. The city is expected to sign a contract with the new construction supplier in the autumn, with work expected to be completed by the end of next year.
The first selection procedure was won by the company Skanska DS, which received 3.6 million crowns for withdrawing from the contract. If the city had not repeated the selection, it would have lost its entitlement to the subsidy. It withdrew from the loan contract without penalties.
