Ivanovice na Hané

Ivanovice na Hané - The manufacturer of veterinary medicines Bioveta from Ivanovice na Hané in the Vyškov region will pay 200 million crowns for the renovation of the castle in Ivanovice and its conversion into a multicultural center. The castle is part of the company's premises, and work on the renovation has already begun. The company announced this in a press release.

"We want to make the castle, which has a rich history and tradition linked to almost ghostly legends, accessible to people not only from Ivanovice but from the entire Vyškov region," said Libor Bittner, chairman of the board of directors of Bioveta.

The company stated that it currently does not use the castle, the building is partially structurally secured, and it has had new roofs since 2018. Bioveta aims to create a cultural center accessible to the public at the castle, along with a café with an outdoor terrace. A shortened tour route should be established in part of the castle. Administrative spaces will also be created, and likely apartment accommodation for the company’s needs.

In addition to the renovation of the castle itself, the pharmaceutical company plans modifications to the park and the construction of a new greenhouse.

The Renaissance castle in Ivanovice na Hané was built between 1608 and 1611 as a reconstruction of a water fortress from the late 15th century. The two-story building, with four wings that form a regular square courtyard with arcaded galleries, is the work of builder Antonio Paris and stonemason Jan Foncu.

Further construction modifications date back to 1711, when a tower was built. In the 20th century, the interior of the castle underwent modifications, especially between the world wars when it was adapted for the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. Since 1945, the castle has been part of the Bioveta company’s premises.
