Prague/Hradec Králové - The company CTP Invest offered Hradec Králové seven million crowns to retroactively legalize the illegal construction of the commercial park. Czech Television reported this today. The company primarily does not have a legally resolved access to the site. While Deputy Mayor Jindřich Vedlich (TOP 09) considers the offer unacceptable, Hradec Králové's Mayor Zdeněk Fink (Hradec Democratic Club) spoke more conciliatorily according to Czech TV.
City representatives previously talked about demolishing the unfinished halls. In September, they submitted a negative opinion to the construction department regarding the proceedings for the additional building permit for the illegal construction. The company has already invested 220 million into the construction of the warehouse complex but urgently needs to obtain an access road from the city. Some councilors categorically reject the company's offer, while others are willing to consider it, the television reported.
"The attempt at buyout is absolutely unacceptable. It is a precedent-setting decision that we must reject. I believe that the social danger of this action is very high," stated Deputy Vedlich. The mayor was not as categorical. "I can personally imagine that if someone else completed this matter, it would not be a detriment at all," he stated in Czech TV.
The extensive commercial park facility was started without permission last autumn near the exit road from Hradec Králové to Ostrava. After several previous unsuccessful calls by the authorities to stop the construction, the work was interrupted in early March. At that time, the first hall was nearly completed and the second had just begun construction. For failing to heed the calls to stop work, the company received fines of 1.35 million crowns from the authorities.
Upon completion, CTPark is expected to offer over 21,000 m² of rental space according to original plans. The total area of the park is over five hectares. The investment value in CTPark is estimated at approximately 410 million crowns.
The CTP group, owned by several Dutch entrepreneurs, operates a network of 36 logistics and industrial CTParks and is the largest industrial developer in the Czech Republic. In addition to the Czech Republic, they are also located in Slovakia, Romania, and Poland. The total area reaches 2.3 million square meters. The group reported an operating profit of 100 million euros (approximately 2.75 billion crowns) two years ago.
