Litomyšl - The charitable care service in Litomyšl in the Svitavy region has acquired new premises. On the border of the industrial zone and Trstěnická Street, a building named Villa Skřivánek has been constructed. The costs exceeded 30 million crowns, the Pardubice Region announced in a press release. The villa is named after Milan Skřivánek, a historian from Litomyšl and emeritus director of the State District Archive Svitavy, who bequeathed an apartment from his estate to the Parish Charity of Litomyšl.

The single-story building in the shape of the letter L offers modern facilities for field and outpatient services, including offices, a day room for caregivers, a training space for up to 40 people, a quiet room, and a barrier-free bathroom. The architectural solution by Jan Májk emphasizes light, natural materials, and a pleasant atmosphere. Villa Skřivánek also features an outdoor terrace overlooking the garden and ample parking for service vehicles.

For the project, whose costs exceeded 30 million crowns, the charity received a grant from the National Recovery Plan. The town hall in Litomyšl also provided assistance, as did a donation from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which funded the landscaping around the building and its furnishings.

The existing building of the People's House was no longer sufficient for the charity's needs. Caregivers had only a nine-square-meter basement room without a sink as their base, and they had to go two floors up to use the toilet. Parking was also a significant problem for the care service. The property is also a protected monument and is not barrier-free.
