Zlín - The former Baťa industrial complex in the center of Zlín, which is undergoing gradual reconstruction, will offer residential spaces for the first time. People can rent loft apartments in the newly reconstructed Building 32. Interested parties have reserved the first 16 apartments.
So far, the reserved apartments are on one floor of the building. The apartments have a ceiling height of 4.2 meters with a built-in sleeping loft. They will be ready for occupancy in January. The company Cream, which reconstructed the entire building, plans to offer apartments on three floors.
The residential units are variable, ranging from double rooms to five-person accommodations, with a total of up to 45 apartments possible in the building. Interested parties can choose the layout and final appearance of the loft. Cream targeted students and young people, but seniors and young families have also shown interest. "Companies are also reaching out, who will have loft apartments as corporate," said Plichtová.
"We respected the Baťa architecture; the columns in the apartments are visible, and we preserved the heights of the ceilings and the format of squares and rectangles," said the manager. According to her, the rent amounts to 7,000 crowns plus 1,000 crowns for utilities. People can also choose an investment lease and purchase the apartments after five years. The building has a reception, underground parking, office spaces, one floor will be occupied by medical practices, and another will offer services.
On the ground floor of the seven-story building, which underwent a 350 million crown renovation completed this summer, are the offices of Czech Post and commercial spaces. Cream Real Estate owns about 50 percent of the properties in the Baťa complex. The company also wants to create a project called Fabrika from other buildings in the area, Buildings 24, 25, and 26, which will serve commercial activities and the university.
