Nearly two years of construction work culminated in the opening of the new wing of the Ordrupgaard Art Museum north of Copenhagen on Tuesday, August 30th. The extension made of black concrete with asymmetrical windows by London architect Zaha Hadid sharply contrasts with the early 20th-century manor house. It thus doubles the existing exhibition space for collections of 19th-century French painting and sculpture. More information, more about the organization than the building itself, can be read in The Washington Post - here. By the way, it is interesting to trace how AP made a typographical error in the name of the museum, and other newspapers mindlessly spread it further.
