We cordially invite you on Monday, December 7, 2020, at 5:00 PM to the gallery Norma space for the fourth continuation of the series Landscape Exchange, in which the Swiss studio WALDRAP will explore the urban and social potential of hidden infrastructure in the installation Performative Infrastructure. The three-channel video installed in the gallery window visualizes a scenario in which underground water systems are made accessible to the public. The result is an expansive hybrid landscape interwoven with swimming areas that connects the residential part of the city with the industrial zone and the surrounding landscape. WALDRAP is a Zurich-based studio that emerged from the collaboration between Renate Walter and Sebastian Lippok. Their work seeks to interpret the conditions of the contemporary world with the complexities, differences, and problems it brings. They do not believe in ideal aesthetics; instead, their designs aim to motivate human interaction. During the exhibition, the Norma space gallery will publish an interview with the project authors, architects Renate Walter and Sebastian F. Lippok from the WALDRAP studio, and Monika Annen, curator of the Zurich gallery Baltsprojects. The projection will take place in the window of the Norma space gallery from December 7 to December 21, 2020. Accompanying information about the event can be found on the Norma space website.
