On July 20, 2006, the National Council of Persons with Disabilities, in cooperation with CZECHDESIGN.CZ, announced a public competition for the creation of a new logo and logo manual for the National Council of Persons with Disabilities. The subject of the competition is to design a logo for NRZP. The brand should consist of a graphic symbol and the abbreviation NRZP ČR.

Round 1
The competition is designed as a two-round process. Interested participants must submit a competition work that meets the assignment requirements, as well as proposals on a CD in electronic form in jpg, tiff, or eps format, a portrait of the participant in print quality, and a CV, along with a properly completed written application, no later than September 11, 2006, by 6 PM. The application (on a special form) along with the competition work and CD must be delivered by the specified time to the address of the National Council of Persons with Disabilities, Partyzánská 7, Praha 7 - Holešovice 170 00, in a sealed envelope marked "Logotype NRZP". The organizer will close the acceptance of proposals for the competition by the set deadline and is not responsible for late delivery of proposals by mail. The competition is non-anonymous. Interested participants must submit at least 1 logo proposal, with a maximum of 5 proposals. Each competition work must be submitted in A3 format, on higher weight paper in both full-color and black and white versions (i.e., negative - positive). The logo must be presented in two sizes: a maximum size of 150 x 150 mm and a minimum size of 15 x 15 mm. On the reverse side of this A3 sheet, the author's name and surname, year of birth, and the company or studio name, if applicable, should be included.

Round 2
After evaluating the first round, the organizer will set additional requirements for the competitors regarding the development of the competition work, with compliance being a condition for participation in the second round. This involves designing a logo manual, which will consist primarily of previews of business cards, A4 letterhead, A4 press releases, A4 presentation folders, A4, A5 envelopes, badges, and stickers of various sizes. The organizer will meet with competitors who advance to the 2nd round for personal consultation before the announcement of the 2nd round to provide closer and more precise specifications. Competitors must submit their competition work in the second round no later than October 10, 2006, by 6 PM to the same address at NRZP based on a written invitation from the organizer with established conditions.

Specification of the Assignment:
NRZP ČR was established in 2000 by an agreement of organizations of citizens with disabilities and is currently the largest and most representative representative of organizations of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic. It currently unites 99 member organizations representing almost 300,000 citizens with disabilities. NRZP ČR is the main advisory body of the Government Council for Persons with Disabilities. It is also a member of several international organizations. NRZP ČR operates nationwide with regional organizational units. The fundamental mission of the National Council of Persons with Disabilities of the Czech Republic is to advocate, promote, and fulfill the interests and needs of citizens with disabilities, based on the collective decision of organizations representing persons with disabilities. NRZP ČR seeks to promote the interests of citizens with disabilities in cooperation with public institutions, state administration, and self-government authorities in the Czech Republic, as well as with international organizations. More information about NRZP's activities can be found on the website www.nrzp.cz Currently, NRZP is changing its name to the National Council of Citizens with Disabilities in the Czech Republic, and competitors must take this name into account when proposing. The logo should express the mission and focus of the organization, clearly and succinctly representing us both domestically and abroad. The logo and the appropriate visual style must subsequently manifest in all printed materials and publications issued by NRZP ČR. The logo should explicitly reflect the given issues more than it does today and should somehow illustrate the connection between the handicapped and the majority society.

The competition works will be evaluated by a judging panel based on the following criteria:
a) compliance with the requirements in terms of the subject of the competition and the content of the competition work, i.e., the logo should be easily identifiable with NRZP, the issue of disability, easily memorable, and optimistically inclined
b) originality and artistic level of the solution
c) overall concept of visual identity
d) originality of the competition work
e) simplicity and comprehensibility
f) timelessness of the solution

The costs incurred by the competitor in connection with participation in the competition shall be borne by the competitor. The winner of the competition will gain the right to conclude a comprehensive licensing contract with the organizer, with a guaranteed total contractual remuneration of CZK 50,000. (The subject of this contract will be both the creation of a graphic manual for the new NRZP logo and granting exclusive rights to the organizer to use the work in an unlimited scope). The deadline for delivering the contract to the organizer, as well as other contractual conditions, will be determined after agreement. It is expected to be within 6 weeks of signing the contract with the winner (approximately by November 20, 2006). The organizer is entitled to use each competition work to the extent necessary for the realization of the competition and for a broader presentation of its results (both partial and overall). All competitors understand that they will provide their proposals for the presentation of this competition.
