Říčany (near Prague) - Říčany near Prague will build a daily center for seniors by 2014, who cannot take care of themselves due to poor health. It will be located at Komenského square next to the care service house. The total cost will amount to 14 million crowns, most of which should be covered by a public collection and sponsorship donations. The city recently announced a competition for the preparation of architectural designs, said Adéla Michalová from the Říčany city hall today to ČTK. "It is basically like a kindergarten for seniors. In the morning, family members will drop them off, and in the evening, they will pick them up," said city architect Alice Štěpánková. According to her, besides the one-day care, the center will also provide so-called respite services at pre-arranged times in case the family goes on vacation or plans a procedure in the hospital. The facility will be intended for the daily stay of ten clients and four within respite services. In addition to meals and assistance with personal hygiene, seniors will be provided social contact, help with personal matters, and therapeutic assistance. The city hall is accepting applications for the architectural competition until January 8, 2013. The evaluation is planned for two days later.
