NČA announces a selection procedure for the operator of GJF

The Czech Architecture Foundation announces a selection procedure for the operator of the architecture gallery in the foundation's exhibition space in the building on Bethlehem Square in Prague for the period from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2022.

During this period, the gallery operator should build on the long-standing tradition of architectural exhibitions by expanding the existing Gallery JF into a Center for Architecture, aimed at not only presenting significant domestic and global architectural works but also shifting the theme of architecture towards a broader general public and fostering a more intense connection with the real lives of people, cities, and landscapes.

Candidates with education in fields related to architecture, with domestic or foreign experience in presenting architecture, who have opinions, oversight, a broader perspective and vision, with the ability to manage and coordinate a wide range of activities, with experience in international cooperation and grant funding for international projects will be particularly welcomed.

The foundation will provide the selected gallery operator with exhibition space for a symbolic rent and will support its activities with foundation contributions.

Interested parties should apply by September 26, 2016 to the correspondence address of the NCA Office (Czech Architecture Foundation, Mánes - Masarykovo nábřeží 250, 110 00 Prague 1), describing their education, experience, and vision for the future direction of the gallery, and accompany their experiences and intentions with any examples, links, or other presentations, as well as recommendations from recognized authorities.

Interviews with candidates will take place in September to October, and the foundation's board of trustees will decide on the selection of the next gallery operator by the end of 2016.
