Architect, educator, expert critic and journalist also active abroad. He worked in many expert juries, was a member of the Scientific-Artistic Council of the Faculty of Architecture at CTU Prague, a member of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture at CTU Prague, worked in the Commission of the Council of the Capital City of Prague for Development, was the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Czech Chamber of Architects, and the city architect of Železný Brod.
Jira's architectural projects and realizations have been regularly published in domestic and foreign expert journals and books on architecture since the 1990s, and his works have been exhibited, for example, at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, as well as at exhibitions in Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Brno, London, and New York. From 1994-95, he was a member of the scientific-educational collegium establishing the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University in Liberec.
