In the center of Helsinki, Amos Rex was designed – a gallery hidden beneath the square, whose concrete domes have become a new public space. They also left a significant mark with the project for the National Museum of Finland, where they worked on the reconstruction and new meaning of a cultural institution for the contemporary city. In Tampere, the Tammela Hybrid Stadium was created, which connects football, housing, and the urban block into one functional entity and earned the studio a nomination for the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award. JKMM is a studio that is changing the shape of Finnish cities. They repeatedly remind us that architecture is not just a set of technical requirements. It is also about wishes, visions, and dreams – and that is precisely why it has the power to influence how we use the city and how we feel in it. Humanity is always present in their buildings: attention to what people truly experience every day. Samuli Miettinen, founding and creative partner, will come to present, among other things, the upcoming Museum of Architecture and Design in Helsinki, whose facade will be made of recycled bricks. Moderated by: Jiří Jaroš The event will be held in English without interpretation.
