In challenging times, positive news comes from Penta Real Estate, which invites local and foreign architects and architectural studios to participate in an open, international architectural and urban planning competition. The aim of the competition is to find the best solution for completing a residential block in the western part of Prague's Vysočany. The project should encompass at least 280 residential units along with elements of civic amenities for commercial or non-commercial purposes (respectively 24,200 m² of gross floor area). The competition is two-stage. The first round is open and qualifying. To participate, one must first register and then submit a portfolio – a maximum of 9 pages. In it, applicants will outline their previous experiences, references, and overall design concept. A 7-member jury will select the 5 best designs for the second round, and their authors will be asked to develop their designs in greater detail. Each participant invited to the second round will receive a fee of 6,000 EUR. The jury consists of 4 representatives from the expert public independent of the organizer and 3 representatives from the competition organizer. Among the independent jurors are Ir. Pascal Cornips (Benthem Crouwel Architects) and Prof. Ing. Arch. Peter Vodrážka, PhD. (STU in Bratislava).
