Valašské Klobouky - Valašské Klobouky in Zlín Region will begin the reconstruction of the town hall on Masaryk Square, the Art Nouveau building of Jan Horný, in May. The plan includes the replacement and restoration of historical windows, facade repairs, and modernization of internal networks. During the reconstruction, the departments will carry out their agendas in alternative municipal spaces, spokesperson for the town hall Lenka Zvonková informed ČTK today. The work will cost 11 million crowns and is expected to be completed by the end of September.
"The building of Jan Horný is a cultural heritage monument, which is one of the historical treasures of our town and significantly contributes to the appearance of Masaryk Square. The building was designed by our famous native architect Hubert Gessner. Today, this seat of the town hall requires reconstruction that will address the poor condition of the windows and facade, and strengthen weak current distributions and data networks in the interior to meet contemporary technological demands for the operation of a modern office," said Mayor Josef Bělaška (BEZPP for Klobučané together).
Restorers will undertake expert restoration of selected original windows on the first floor. "Other non-original fittings will be replaced with new windows, which will significantly improve thermal insulation properties and ensure energy savings," stated the head of the Department of Investments and Strategic Development Radek Bařinka. The expert renovation will also address the Art Nouveau elements on the facade.
The office departments will move to alternative spaces, so some services will be partially limited. On Friday, April 24, the town hall's filing office will be closed, and on Monday, April 27, and the following day, the cash register will be closed. The ID card office will be open on Tuesday from 07:00 to 11:30.
The mayor and deputy mayor will work during the reconstruction in the House on the Corner. There will also be a filing office, financial department, and property department. The secretary of the town hall will be in the building of the town hall at Masaryk Square no. 177. The registry office, population records, verification, and Czech Point will temporarily be in the meeting room at the town hall at Masaryk Square 275.
