Prague - The Prague National House in Vinohrady has failed to sell even on the seventh attempt. In the electronic auction, no one bid even the starting price of 445 million crowns. The Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters (ÚZSVM) will therefore announce a new round of the property auction, the office's spokesperson Tereza Frančová stated today in a press release.
As in the previous sales attempt, at least one interested party registered for the auction, who paid a twenty-million deposit. However, no bids were made during the auction. Therefore, the property office will prepare a new auction for the property at náměstí Míru.
The property office took over the National House in Vinohrady at the end of 2024 from the State Cultural Fund. Since no state institution showed interest in the property, the office offered it for sale in an auction. The first round took place last April with a starting price of 760 million crowns, and in subsequent rounds, ÚZSVM gradually lowered the price.
The National House in Vinohrady was built between 1893 and 1894 based on a design by architect Antonín Turk. The neo-Renaissance building has four above-ground and two underground floors. It contains three large representative halls and four social lounges. Currently, the house is primarily used for organizing balls and other social events. Until mid-2032, the house is leased to the company National House-Cultural House of Railway Workers.
