The Architecture Gallery Brno presents an architectural presentation of projects by the vertical studio of Jan Mléčka and his students from the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno under the title

ALTWASSER (ON THE WAY HOME)

The exhibition explores the borderlands of the republic as a landscape with disrupted continuity of human relationships, stalled development, and outlines the potential for its transformation into a thriving area. Is this guide hidden in experiences tested by centuries?

Within the Sudeten region, several landscape aspects archetypically emerge. We move to the territory of the military district Libavá, which, due to its diversity, provides an opportunity to work with them. Subsided areas, depopulated regions, traces of education and culture, natural specifics. The project offers 20 interdependent solutions that address the territory with their diverse levels, from the landscape scale to the residential scale. The goal of the project is to find suitable solutions for resettlement and landscape restoration in Libavá that can be applied to the entire Sudeten territory as well as across Europe. Libavá is a demo version of the resettlement of the Sudeten landscape.
