Brno. The first center of its kind in the Czech Republic, with the prosaic name Kaštanová, will open at the beginning of 2015 on the eponymous street in Brno-Ivanovice (next to the Makro hypermarket). The center will be primarily focused on the professional public, namely architects, designers, and project developers. The operation of the Kaštanová center, with a total investment of over 120 million crowns, will begin in April 2015.

“As the owner of Keraservis, which communicates daily with architects and project developers, I feel very strongly about the necessity of creating such a center, which will facilitate their everyday work – providing them with a comprehensive offering in the field of housing and design all in one place,” says the project representative, Ing. Radek Černý. He also adds that the main benefit of the center is intended to be the synergistic connection of the offerings from all tenants. “It is basically a win-win strategy. The advantages will benefit all parties - tenants and customers alike,” adds Ing. Černý.
The construction of the center began on June 9 of this year, and efforts are currently underway to ensure everything is completed and ready for leasing by December 2014. Over four thousand square meters of leasable retail space will be created within the fifteen thousand square meter complex, which includes sixteen independent showrooms. In addition, the Center for Housing and Design will offer nearly one thousand square meters of air-conditioned offices, nine meeting and training rooms, storage spaces, and a stylish café, suitable for business meetings in private. Problem-free parking and additional services will be a matter of course for the Center.
“Kaštanová has a strategic location, situated close to the entrances from highways D1 and D2. This was also one of the main reasons we relocated to this complex at the beginning of 2013. Thanks to this move, we have seen a 70% increase in the number of customers,” expresses David Veselý, the managing director of Supellex, praising the decision to move to the future Center. (Currently, besides Supellex, companies such as Mapei and Deho are also located at Kaštanová).
An integral part of Kaštanová will be the Center for Rough Construction with approximately 15 entities that will introduce clients to a portfolio of quality brands for complete rough construction of a house. All of this will come with guaranteed expert consultation from individual brands. Kaštanová, as a whole, will then offer its customers (also from the wider public) a complete overview of the assortment for interior and exterior fittings of the house. This will primarily include bathrooms, flooring, kitchens, fireplaces, doors, windows, wellness equipment, plaster, and vertical gardens, lighting and light pipes, smart building systems, air conditioning, garage doors, construction chemistry, and last but not least, fabrics/wallpapers/decorations, and designer furniture including accessories.
“I believe that not only I, but my colleagues from other offices will appreciate Kaštanová's focus on showrooms specializing only in certain products and the subsequent synergy among all tenants in the Center,” says Ing. Arch. David Šrom from the company PROAM, who also adds: “I also like the investor's uncompromising approach in selecting tenants, where it is evident that the primary goal is not just to rent out space, but primarily to choose a quality partner for long-term cooperation, thus creating a solid pre-selection for us architects and our clients.”
