Having tiles on the floor and cladding on the wall is entirely common. The most striking trend influenced by advancements in production technologies is the imitation of materials - primarily wood, natural stone, concrete, or cement surface finishes. They look good even when combined in one room. They are so similar to the originals that only a tap on the surface will reassure you of the substitution. “Digital printing allows for any decor in high resolution to be transferred onto the smooth, even embossed surfaces of tiles and flooring. Authentic are the natural randomness, imperfections, patina, stone cuts, or surface treatments that you encounter with wooden floors – for example, planing, or bleached surfaces,” explains Marek Vráblík, chief designer of the RAKO brand.

Another novelty is the wider use of decoration. There are many options, either with the help of traditional elements (listellos, mosaics...), or a combination of formats, or effectively alternating smooth and textured surfaces. All decorations stand out when combined with waves of neutral grays and earthy tones, which currently prevail. When you decide to tile an entire wall, you hit the trends and add an unusual artistic solitary to the interior.
