The roof, especially the sloped roof, is an uninteresting part of the building for most architects, something they must endure. In many cases, architects demonstrate their ingenuity by designing complicated shapes or incorporating dormers, and by choosing colors, but they hardly address the type and design of the roofing itself. It is a pity that most sloped roofs feature the same (cheap) concrete tiles with poor properties, appearance, and lifespan, when there are technically perfect alternatives that offer much more creative approaches and solutions in terms of design – (appearance).
