The TYPO magazine focused on typography, graphic design, and visual communication is celebrating five years of existence. The first issue of 2008 brought a number of innovations: the content structure, magazine format, graphic design, paper, and last but not least, the frequency are changing – it is transforming from a bimonthly to a quarterly publication.

The volume of information presented in each issue of the magazine is also increasing; the thirty-first issue of the magazine, which has just been released in the new format, has 84 pages instead of the original thirty-two, in the format of 230×250 mm.
The texts in the magazine are now divided into two main sections: in the first, readers will find key thematic articles, while the second includes shorter current texts, font reviews, brief columns, and contributions from guest contributors, as well as information from competitions and conferences. Instead of an editorial, brief annotations of the individual texts have been unusually included in the table of contents.

The theme of the thirty-first issue of TYPO magazine is Korean design with texts specially prepared by the most prominent South Korean designers and typography and design theorists. Readers can familiarize themselves with the historical development of the Korean script, current trends in Korean graphic design and its most notable representatives, Korean calligraphy, as well as the design of Latin fonts that can be combined with Chinese, Japanese, and Korean scripts.

In the upcoming issues of TYPO magazine, readers can look forward to an overview of contemporary Italian graphic design and typography, design in the Visegrád Group countries, and the work of Jan Tschichold.

This year, the online form of the magazine will also undergo significant changes, with the merger of the magazine's website and the pages of Typo.cz into one extensive modern typographic portal, which will be supplemented with many new features. Discussions, an online store, RSS feeds, archives, etc., will be added. TYPO magazine is bilingual (all texts are in Czech and English), and subscriptions can be found on the website www.typo.cz/obchod, where there is also a link to purchase individual older issues.
