The transformation of the nature of work, accelerated by the COVID pandemic, has fundamentally reflected in the demands for the design of office spaces. Architects today face the challenge of how to combine the openness of an interior where people meet and collaborate organically with the need for quiet, deep work, and acoustic comfort. To respond to this new reality, the traditional Czech manufacturer SAPELI has introduced the ZEN glass acoustic partition, designed primarily for office and other commercial spaces.

The return to the office after the pandemic brought not only new work regimes but also a heightened sensitivity to the surrounding environment. Employees, accustomed to the silence and focus of home offices, now perceive noise in open space areas much more intensely. At the same time, companies face the need to provide space for flexible work, meetings, and video calls – without disruptions and with an emphasis on privacy.

ZEN: Silence that suits every space

That is why the traditional Czech manufacturer of door systems and partitions has introduced the ZEN glass acoustic partition this year, which, thanks to an airborne sound insulation of up to 44 dB, can significantly reduce noise burden in open space environments while maintaining the transparency of the space. It thus represents an ideal solution for meeting rooms, work corners, and office "phone" booths for quick calls and focused work, which are becoming an increasingly common part of modern offices and hubs.

The ZEN acoustic partition is available in two construction variants – with a wooden frame (single or double glazing) and with an aluminum profile (double glazing). The partition can be combined with any type of door. "The surface of the partition is very versatile – from lacquered veneer or veneer finished with oil in any shade, through a wide range of HPL laminates in various colors and decors, to the color finish of the aluminum profile. Thanks to this, ZEN easily adapts to various architectural concepts and material solutions of the interior," says Tomáš Albrecht from SAPELI.

MOON, FUTRA, and LOFTY: Play with light, structure, and rhythm

The new ZEN partition expands the existing offer of 3 types of glass walls from SAPELI, which allow architects to work creatively with spatial division, light, and materials in commercial and residential spaces:

  • MOON is a minimalist frameless partition with a thin aluminum profile, ideal for modern open space offices and residential interiors where the cleanliness of lines and visual lightness play a role.
  • FUTRA offers a combination of glass filling with a casing or frame jamb, allowing for alignment with the rest of the door systems.
  • LOFTY with distinctive metal grids refers to industrial style and finds application in offices, showrooms, stylish restaurants, and residential interiors with character.

Everything from one manufacturer in a unified design

SAPELI offers architects, designers, and developers a comprehensive system of door systems that connects function and aesthetics throughout the building – from interior doors and frames to entrance residential and technical doors with various levels of resistance, to glass partitions. "We can produce all types of doors and systems in a unified design and adapt to the scale and character of the space so that the interior feels cohesive and without visual compromises," says Tomáš Albrecht.
