The reconstruction of the business incubator in Česká Třebová will cost 96 million CZK

Česká Třebová – The Pardubice region is converting the former building of the Mika company in Česká Třebová in the Orlickoústecko area for the needs of the Třebovsko-Orlický Business Incubator (TO-PINK). It will feature shared workshops, offices, and workspaces that will offer new opportunities for entrepreneurs, companies, and collaboration with schools. The reconstruction costs will be nearly 96 million crowns including VAT, the regional authority stated in a press release. Part of the costs could be covered by a European grant.

"We want it to become a place where entrepreneurs, companies, students, and schools will meet and where new business ideas and projects will arise. The eastern part of the Pardubice region has long been struggling with economic and social isolation. Therefore, it is even more important to create conditions here for new business opportunities, support for innovations, and cooperation between companies and schools," said Governor Martin Netolický (3PK). According to him, the immediate proximity of the Technical and Transport School of Gustav Habrman, where engineering and carpentry fields are taught, is an advantage. Graduates of the school thus have a business base literally around the corner and can utilize its space and equipment if they decide to start their own business. At the same time, the region wants to connect the incubator with the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Ústí nad Orlicí and other schools.

The former production area from the turn of the 80s and 90s of the last century comprises a prefabricated hall and a brick building. The hall will be transformed into shared workshops, which will include new facilities, offices, and shared workspaces on the second floor. Administrative spaces will be created in the brick part of the building.

The construction company will initially focus on disassembly and demolition work in the first months. This will be followed by work on new structures in the administrative part as well as in the hall, which, once completed, will offer space for workshop machines and related manufacturing activities. Everything should be finished by the end of next year.

The incubator began operating under the name Českotřebovský Business Incubator (ČT-PINK) in the autumn of 2023. From the beginning, it was anticipated that the building would need to be completely rebuilt over time. The scope of the incubator gradually expanded, and in 2024 it was renamed to Třebovsko-Orlický Business Incubator (TO-PINK).

TO-PINK is a branch of the Pardubice Business Incubator (P-PINK), which was created with the aim of bringing its services closer to residents of the eastern part of the region. P-PINK is a subsidiary of the Regional Development Agency of the Pardubice Region, which began its operations in March 2018. One of the partners of the incubators is the Technology and Knowledge Transfer Center of the University of Pardubice.
